Antarctica, Here I Come?

Oh friends, I think we all know by now that I am one of the world's greatest nerds... It just so happens that I love the polar regions of this world. Yep. Nerd. Right here. You can point fingers. I don't mind.

Alas, I just can't shake this obsession of mine to journey to the bottom of the world and see the rolling ice fields for myself. To see penguins and perhaps the lone polar bear is a requirement for my life's fulfillment. I will get there someday, and perhaps, that someday is a little bit closer for I have found a way to travel to Antarctica for FREE!

But... here's the clincher... I need your help. I need your friends' help, your parents help, even your dog's playmate's owner's help!

You see, there's a competition to become an Antarctica Expedition BLOGGER! That's right! I have the chance to... blog my way to Antarctica! Ha!

But, it requires good friends and good strangers  to VOTE for me! And if I get the most votes, well then, I win...

AND THEN MY DREAM CAN COME TRUE!!!

So, if you feel so inclined to help someone see her dream come true, then simply go to the link below and vote for me.

And if you feel so inclined to help me out even more, pass the link on to some family and friends and have them vote too! So far, I believe the furthest people away who have voted for me come from a local Texas Court office. Are you further away from Seattle than that? Vote for me and let me know!

Plus, I get to bring one person along for the ride. If I win... it could be you :)

Plus, check out my new blog about my journey to become the next Quark Expedition Blogger!

My Fixation for the Next Month

Whoa.

Imagine waking up to find out that you didn't climb Mt. St. Helens last night. That you weren't too sick to start the climb with the rest of the group, only to start later and attempt to catch up, eventually finding yourself alone in a storm, having to hanker down in a bivy sack tied to the edge of a snow wall so that you didn't roll off the cliff edge while sleeping, waking up to dig yourself out of a blanket of snow and ice only to realize that you wouldn't make the summit, that you failed and nearly died during the attempt and finally deciding to make the decent down to base camp before another storm started.

Again... I say... whoa.

I hope the real climb goes more smoothly than that. It's less than a month away. And its going to be amazing.

Basically if you're wondering what I'll be thinking about for the next month the answer is...

Mount Saint Helens. The climb.

I think my dream last night verifies this truth... Whoa.
